Red Sky Capital was formed from a vision to create a new Canadian alternative asset management company and combine it with the strength, knowledge and support of one of Canada's most respected fund management companies, CI Financial (CIX-TSX). We believe that the combination of portfolio skills at Red Sky and the integrity and professionalism of CI Financial is truly unique in the Canadian alternative asset management industry. We have worked very closely with CI Financial in building our Company and our first Fund, The Red Sky Partners Fund.

Aside from all the benefits that come from the CI relationship, the next most important differentiator of our Company is that the manager has a substantial personal investment in our Funds, which closely aligns our interests with our Unitholder's. As managers and substantial investors, achieving the Fund’s objectives of consistent annual investment returns and long term capital appreciation in the value of the Fund units on a tax effective basis is our priority.

The team we have assembled is the best I have ever worked with and each of my partners has a variety of complementary skills. Our team has been exposed to a variety of investment classes, styles and approaches to risk as well as market conditions. In extremely volatile periods including the years 2008 through 2010, managers needed to adapt, our team was quick to do so. Our view is that active management, combined with investment strategies that include the use of short selling, are far superior to long only strategies. Our investment approach was developed with this view in mind. This team is also deeply committed to fundamental analysis and collectively we have over 46 years experience analysing investments. We acknowledge there will be times when other classes can outperform equities, but by applying short selling to an active equity strategy we expect to outperform most other classes over time.
